IT Project Manager (banking) Job

For our client in the investment banking business we are currently looking for a Project Manager to coordinate and control the resources to ensure the correct focus across teams. This person will also write project plan and prepare project status decks.

What you'll be doing

• Overall project management of all assigned IT projects including without limitation preparation of the project initiation document (PID), project plan (Gantt chart), project organisation chart, project budget application (ringi) and system release documentation
• Work across IT/business functions to define the project scope and approach
• Managing changes and ensuring appropriate documentation is available (PID, BRD,FRDs etc) 
• Preparation of Head Office committee meeting or CIO/Sub CIO level documentation where required for the project
• Ensure all project deliverables created and adhere to the required quality/risk management policies.
• Managing internal and external resources in a matrix organisation project structure
• Co-work with the IT planning team and Regional Coordination team to have the budget approved
• Ensure projects are tracked against budget and delivered within the approved budget
• Monthly preparation and reporting to Project Steering Committee, where applicable
• Vendor management including negotiating statement of works, contracts and service level agreements 
• Weekly project status reporting to the planning team and EIOD management (plus other stakeholders where applicable).
• Ensure projects are delivered against the project plan and all milestones are met
• Proactively seeks to resolve risks and issues escalating when required
• Deployment and release coordination

What you'll bring along

• Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a similar role and mandatory banking experience
• Relevant Project management qualification would be nice (APM, PMP etc.) 
• Good understanding of project management methodologies
• Good technical understanding of IT and the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
• In depth knowledge of all areas of IT
• Understanding of financial market products 
• Customer focused with a service delivery mentality
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
