The CTO serves as a strategic leader, managing tech vision, team development, and infrastructure. He/she guides teams, assures quality, and leads a Center of Excellence. Handling collaboration, security, and compliance, the role holder stays updated on emerging technologies, fostering innovation aligned with business goals, while also developing business logic based on JEE using applications servers (Payara, Quarkus).

  • Strategic Planning: Planning resource and skills ramp-up over 3, 6, and 12 months.
  • Staying Informed: Keeping abreast of emerging technologies.
  • Guiding Development Teams: Ensuring scalable and reliable solutions.
  • Quality Assurance: Overseeing technology stack quality and security.
  • Specialization & Expertise: Leading CoE for knowledge and expertise.
  • Best Practices: Implementing and ensuring best practices.
  • Training and Knowledge Sharing: Facilitating training and knowledge sharing.
  • Innovation, Consulting, Quality Assurance, Continuous Improvement, Research, and Development: Coordinating initiatives for excellence.
  • Supportive Leadership: Fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Development Processes: Implementing processes for team growth.
  • Resource and Skills Planning: Collaborating on strategic resource ramp-up.
  • Infrastructure Management: Overseeing technology infrastructure design and implementation.
  • Cloud Strategy: Developing and executing cloud strategy.
  • Collaboration: Cross-functional Collaboration: Aligning technology initiatives with business goals.


What you will bring

 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a CTO or in a similar senior role
  • Proven experience coordinating large teams of engineers in delivering complex and scalable software solutions.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience setting objectives aligned with company/ product area goals and metrics tools to monitor the work of engineers.
  • Prior startup experience or experience in fast-growing and dynamic environments.
  • Experience in agile development methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Focus on productivity and delivering high-quality solutions quickly.
  • Excellent command of both spoken and written English, German would be nice to have.
