Application Architect - File Share Subject Matter Expert with German

What you'll be doing

• Architecting, designing, governing, and strategically evolving enterprise file-sharing and content collaboration platforms.
• Providing senior technical ownership for custom application environments relying on Windows File Services, DFS-R, NAS, and WinFS-based applications.
• Acting as the highest operational and technical escalation point for business-critical collaboration and file services platforms.
• Ensuring service stability, security, compliance, operational excellence, and transformation readiness across globally deployed file-sharing services.
• Leading the technical resolution of critical incidents, including P1 and P2 escalations, while coordinating cross-functional teams during major incidents.
• Conducting advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and end-to-end impact assessments for complex service issues.
• Driving permanent corrective actions, service improvements, and operational risk reduction across the file services and application landscape.
• Supporting 24x7 escalation and on-call rotations for highly critical and confidential file-sharing environments.
• Maintaining end-to-end technical ownership of Windows File Services and related custom application environments.
• Coordinating technical dependencies across storage, Windows Server, Active Directory, database, network, security, and B2B/B2D integration teams.
• Governing technical risks, operational dependencies, platform availability, and service performance across enterprise file-sharing services.
• Supporting platform modernization, transformation readiness, and cloud migration initiatives for file-sharing and collaboration services.
• Supporting secure and compliant management of file storage, sharing, collaboration, records retention, and content lifecycle services.
• Providing technical guidance for Java-based applications running on Payara, GlassFish, Apache Tomcat, or equivalent application servers.
• Supporting application deployments, configuration management, log analysis, performance troubleshooting, patching, and vulnerability remediation activities.
• Reviewing application security concepts, authentication mechanisms, SSO integrations, REST APIs, and secure software lifecycle requirements.
• Supporting encryption, data protection, and security controls, including encryption at rest and technologies such as Vormetric where applicable.
• Engaging with business stakeholders, security teams, infrastructure teams, application owners, and technical teams to align solutions with business and regulatory requirements.
• Maintaining meticulous technical documentation, audit evidence, architecture records, operational procedures, and governance materials.
• Ensuring all activities comply with security, governance, compliance, audit, and regulatory requirements.

What you'll bring along

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum 10 years of experience with a strong background in storage, application operations, enterprise file services, or related infrastructure environments.
• Strong technical understanding of Windows File Services and custom applications leveraging DFS-R, NAS, and WinFS applications.
• Good understanding of Windows infrastructure, network file shares, enterprise file-sharing platforms, and content collaboration services.
• Experience providing Level 3 support, senior technical escalation, and end-to-end ownership for business-critical application or file service environments.
• Strong experience leading technical resolution of critical incidents, conducting advanced troubleshooting, and performing root cause analysis.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams during major incidents, service degradations, and high-priority escalations.
• Experience governing technical risks, operational dependencies, service availability, and performance across complex enterprise platforms.
• Strong understanding of applications running on Java, Payara, GlassFish, Apache Tomcat, or equivalent application server stacks.
• Experience supporting enterprise Java-based web applications in production environments.
• Knowledge of application deployments, configuration management, service control, log analysis, performance troubleshooting, and patch management.
• Understanding of Oracle and PostgreSQL database fundamentals in relation to application operations and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of web technologies, authentication mechanisms, SSO, REST APIs, and application security concepts.
• Familiarity with vulnerability remediation, library upgrades, and secure software lifecycle practices.
• Good understanding of encryption at rest, ideally including Vormetric or similar data protection technologies.
• Familiarity with compliance and audit processes, including documentation, evidence preparation, and operational auditability.
• Detailed understanding of security and compliance expectations, with strong attention to documentation accuracy, traceability, and governance.
• Ability to support platform modernization, cloud migration initiatives, and transformation readiness activities.
• Clear and concise communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong prioritization, time management, and decision-making skills under SLA pressure and during critical incidents.
• High attention to detail, with a structured approach to risk management, documentation, service ownership, and escalation.
• Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate certification is preferred.
• Excellent command of both spoken and written English and German.
