We are looking for an experienced SAP Basis Administrator to join our team. The role combines SAP Basis operations with SAP HANA database administration and requires a customer-centric mindset, strong analytical and communication skills, and a structured approach to incident resolution and system maintenance.

 

This position provides L2 operational support within a 24x7 service model organized across three shifts. Candidates must be willing and able to work in shifts according to the agreed support schedule.

 

 

What you’ll be doing

 

  • Provide L2 operational support for SAP ABAP and Java landscapes across development, test, training, and production environments.
  • Work within a 24x7 support model organized across three shifts.
  • Proactively monitor SAP systems to ensure high availability, stability, reliability, and performance.
  • Respond to incidents and service requests within the agreed service-level agreements.
  • Participate in customer bridge calls and communicate technical status, business impact, troubleshooting activities, and resolution progress.
  • Analyze operational incidents, identify root causes, and implement appropriate corrective and preventive measures.
  • Work with tickets using ServiceNow and SPC.
  • Perform end-to-end SAP Basis administration, including system monitoring, transport management, job scheduling, printer administration, and client copies.
  • Manage the SAP Change and Transport System to ensure the consistent promotion of configuration and development objects across environments.
  • Introduce technical changes using structured change and release management processes to minimize risk and ensure system reliability.
  • Monitor SAP system performance and capacity and perform tuning activities when required.
  • Administer and support SAP Web Dispatcher.
  • Configure and maintain SSL and Single Sign-On solutions, including certificate exchange, certificate renewal, and trust relationships between systems.
  • Plan and execute SAP upgrades, support-package implementations, kernel upgrades, and other system lifecycle activities.
  • Support the administration and operation of additional SAP components where applicable.
  • Administer SAP HANA databases, including installation, configuration, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Monitor database availability, health, capacity, and performance.
  • Perform database performance tuning and optimization.
  • Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, system errors, and other database-related issues.
  • Manage database security, including user access controls, encryption, authorization, and auditing.
  • Execute and monitor database backup and recovery activities.
  • Support disaster recovery planning, testing, and operational readiness.
  • Configure, monitor, and maintain data-replication scenarios.
  • Respond to database-related incidents and minimize downtime and impact on business operations.
  • Ensure database integrity, availability, and recoverability across supported environments.
  • Collaborate with SAP, database, infrastructure, application, security, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of reliable SAP and database solutions aligned with business requirements.
  • Develop and maintain operational documentation, technical procedures, standards, and administration best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance, knowledge transfer, and mentoring to junior team members.
  • Stay current with SAP technologies, SAP HANA updates, and industry best practices.
  • Identify and contribute to opportunities for automation, operational improvement, and increased service quality.

 

 

What you’ll bring along

 

  • Hands-on experience in SAP Basis administration and operational support.
  • Practical experience supporting both SAP ABAP and SAP Java environments.
  • Experience working across development, test, training, and production environments.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP system monitoring, transport management, background-job scheduling, printer administration, and client copies.
  • Experience with SAP upgrades, support packages, kernel upgrades, and lifecycle-management activities.
  • Practical knowledge of SAP Web Dispatcher, SSL, SSO, certificate management, and system trust configuration.
  • Experience administering and maintaining SAP HANA databases.
  • Knowledge of SAP HANA monitoring, performance tuning, backup, recovery, disaster recovery, security, and replication.
  • Experience with incident, problem, change, and release management processes.
  • Familiarity with ticketing tools, particularly ServiceNow and SPC.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and root-cause analysis capabilities.
  • Good customer-facing communication skills and the ability to participate effectively in technical bridge calls.
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary and geographically distributed teams.
  • A structured, detail-oriented, and results-driven approach.
  • Nice to have: Administration or support experience with one or more of the following: SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform (BOBJ), SAP BusinessObjects Data Services (BODS)
    SAP Cloud Connector, SAP Content Server, OpenText.
  • Relevant SAP Basis or SAP HANA certifications.
  • Experience providing technical guidance or mentoring junior team members.
  • Experience supporting complex, business-critical, or international SAP environments.
  • Experience identifying or implementing operational automation and service improvements.
  • Willingness and flexibility to work in a 24x7 rotating three-shift schedule.
