We are looking for an experienced SAP HANA Database Administrator to join our team. The role requires strong technical expertise in SAP HANA database administration, a structured and analytical approach, and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders.

 

What you’ll be doing

 

  • Install, configure, administer, and maintain SAP HANA database environments.
  • Monitor database availability, health, capacity, and performance to ensure stable and reliable operations.
  • Analyze and optimize database performance by identifying bottlenecks and implementing appropriate tuning measures.
  • Implement and maintain database security controls, including user and role administration, access management, data encryption, and auditing.
  • Plan, execute, and monitor database backup and recovery activities.
  • Support disaster recovery planning, testing, and operational readiness.
  • Configure, monitor, and maintain SAP HANA data replication scenarios.
  • Ensure database integrity, availability, and recoverability across supported environments.
  • Respond to database-related incidents and service requests, minimizing downtime and disruption to business operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, including performance degradation, system errors, replication failures, and data corruption.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive measures for recurring database issues.
  • Collaborate with SAP Basis, infrastructure, application, security, and other cross-functional teams to design and implement database solutions aligned with business requirements.
  • Support database changes, maintenance activities, upgrades, and technical improvements.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, administration standards, and best practices for SAP HANA environments.
  • Stay current with SAP HANA updates, industry trends, and emerging database technologies to continuously improve database operations.
  • Provide technical guidance, knowledge transfer, and support to junior database administrators and other team members.

 

 

What you’ll bring along

 

  • Good understanding of SAP HANA architecture, concepts, components, and administration activities.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP HANA installation, configuration, administration, and maintenance.
  • Experience monitoring and supporting SAP HANA database environments.
  • Knowledge of database performance analysis, tuning, and optimization techniques.
  • Practical experience with database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Working knowledge of SAP HANA replication scenarios and related monitoring activities.
  • Knowledge of database security, including user access controls, encryption, authorization concepts, and auditing.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex database issues, including performance bottlenecks, system errors, replication problems, and data corruption.
  • Strong incident-management, root-cause analysis, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary and geographically distributed teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and a structured, results-driven approach.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to create and maintain clear technical documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
  • Willingness to continuously develop technical knowledge and remain current with SAP HANA updates and database administration best practices.
  • Nice to have: SAP HANA certification or other relevant SAP database certification.
  • Experience providing technical guidance or mentoring junior database administrators.
  • Experience supporting complex, business-critical, or international SAP environments.
  • Exposure to high-availability and disaster recovery solutions for SAP HANA.
  • Knowledge of additional SAP or enterprise database technologies.
  • Willingness and flexibility to work in shifts as part of the agreed support schedule.
