Data & AI Solutions Architect

Who We Are

 
We are looking for an experienced Data & AI Solutions Architect with strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to design, build, and govern modern data platforms. The role requires a strategic thinker with deep hands-on experience in data engineering, cloud architecture, governance, and AI/ML solutions, capable of translating business needs into scalable, secure, and efficient technical solutions. 

 

Location: Bucharest 

 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Design end-to-end data and analytics architectures on GCP, ensuring scalability, performance, and cost efficiency
  • Define solution blueprints, architectural patterns, and best practices for data platforms and AI-driven solutions
  • Create and maintain architecture documentation, including diagrams, technical specifications, and design decisions 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions and roadmaps
  • Architect and oversee the implementation of data pipelines and workflows using: Cloud Composer (Airflow), Dataflow (Apache Beam), Dataform, BigQuery 
  • Design robust ETL/ELT pipelines, batch and stream processing solutions
  • Optimize data storage, processing models, and query performance in BigQuery
  • Ensure high data quality, reliability, and availability across pipelines
  • Design and integrate AI/ML solutions using:  Vertex AI, General machine learning frameworks and tools 
  • Enable use cases such as predictive analytics, automation, and intelligent decision-making
  • Collaborate with data scientists to operationalize models into production environments (MLOps)
  • Define and implement data governance frameworks, including data quality, lineage, and cataloging
  • Ensure adherence to security best practices, including:  IAM roles and access control, Encryption and data protection, Secure data sharing, Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR)
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams
  • Review solution designs and ensure alignment with architectural standards
  • Engage with stakeholders across business, product, and engineering team
  • Support pre-sales or proposal activities when needed


What We’re Looking For
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 8 years in data engineering / architecture, with several years specifically on GCP in banking or financial services
  • Strong hands-on experience with GCP services, especially:  Composer, Dataflow, Dataform, BigQuery 
  • Solid understanding of:  Data modeling (dimensional, data vault, etc.), Streaming and batch architectures 
  • Experience designing scalable cloud-native architectures
  • Practical experience with Vertex AI or similar platforms
  • Understanding of ML lifecycle and MLOps practices
  • Experience implementing data governance frameworks 
  • Strong knowledge of cloud security principles and IAM
  • Ability to produce clear technical documentation and architecture diagrams
  • Familiarity with tools such as Draw.io, Lucidchart, or similar 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and lead technical initiatives
  • Strategic mindset with attention to detail

Nice to Have: 

  • Certifications in Google Cloud (Professional Data Engineer / Architect)
  • Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid architectures
  • Knowledge of DevOps / CI-CD pipelines
  • Experience in regulated industries (e.g., finance, automotive, healthcare)
