The SPM Tester is responsible for ensuring the quality, stability, and functionality of ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) solutions. Working closely with Developers, Product Owners, and Business Analysts, the tester validates end-to-end SPM processes including Demand Management, Project Management, Resource Management, Financial Management, Portfolio Management, and Agile Interaction to ensure reliable operation before go-live. The role develops and executes test strategies, identifies defects, and supports continuous quality assurance throughout the agile delivery lifecycle.

 

 

What you'll be doing 

 

  • Design and derive test cases from user stories, business requirements, and acceptance criteria.
  • Execute functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end tests across the complete SPM lifecycle.
  • Validate workflows, approvals, status transitions, KPIs, rollup calculations, and portfolio governance processes.
  • Create, maintain, and automate test cases using the ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF) where applicable.
  • Identify, analyze, document, and track defects in close collaboration with Developers and Product Owners.
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives to ensure quality throughout the agile development process.
  • Develop and maintain test concepts, test plans, test documentation, and test automation assets.
  • Ensure compliance with testing standards, governance requirements, and quality assurance best practices.
  • Proactively identify testing risks, dependencies, and improvement opportunities.
  • Support test data management and contribute to post-go-live validation and defect resolution.

 

 

What You'll Bring Along 

 

  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in testing ServiceNow solutions, preferably within the Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) module.
  • Practical experience with Demand Management, Project Management, Resource Management, Financial Management, Portfolio Management, and Agile Interaction processes.
  • Experience with test automation using the ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF).
  • Able to independently design, execute, and document test scenarios and coordinate defect management activities.
  • Experience working in agile delivery environments (e.g., Scrum or SAFe) and is proficient with tools such as Jira, Confluence, and test management solutions.
  • Ideally relevant ServiceNow and/or testing certifications (e.g., CSA, CIS-SPM, CAD, ISTQB).
  • Demonstrates strong analytical skills, attention to detail, ownership, and a structured, quality-focused approach.
  • Professional proficiency in English and German is required.
