We are seeking a talented Data Analyst to support strategic data‑driven initiatives for our client, one of the UK’s leading energy companies. In this role, you will transform complex operational and customer data into clear insights that enhance decision‑making across the business. Your work will contribute directly to improving grid reliability, optimizing energy distribution, and strengthening sustainability efforts in a highly dynamic, regulated environment.
What you'll be doing
- Partner with client stakeholders to understand business challenges and identify opportunities where data analysis can deliver measurable value
- Gather, analyse, and document business and data requirements across multiple client engagements
- Extract, clean, and transform structured and unstructured data from a variety of client systems and data sources
- Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and actionable insights
- Design, develop, and maintain dashboards and reports to support client decision-making
- Translate complex data findings into clear, concise insights and recommendations tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Collaborate with data engineers, architects, and other consultants to deliver end-to-end data solutions
- Support the development of reusable analytics assets, accelerators, and best practices within the organisation
- Ensure data quality, governance, and consistency standards are upheld across client deliverables
- Contribute to client workshops, presentations, and stakeholder communications as part of project delivery
What you'll bring along
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a data analyst or similar role, ideally within a consulting or client-facing environment
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience working with complex, large-scale datasets
- Experience with Python or R for data analysis (e.g., pandas, NumPy)
- Proven experience developing dashboards using tools such as Power BI or Tableau
- Solid understanding of data modelling, data structures, and analytical techniques
- Ability to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present insights to diverse stakeholder groups
- Experience working in agile or project-based delivery environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
- Excellent data storytelling and visualisation skills
- Client-focused approach with strong stakeholder management capabilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of cross-functional delivery teams
- Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake)
- Exposure to Microsoft Fabric for integrated data and analytics solutions
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes and data pipeline design
- Experience with big data technologies such as Spark or Databricks
- Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance considerations in enterprise environments
- Experience working across energies and utilities idealy
