Senior AI Engineer with Python

We are hiring a Senior Backend Python Engineer (5+ years of experience) to be part of the development of an AI Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) platform.
This role covers ideation, architecture, implementation, testing, and production deployment. The candidate must be highly autonomous, capable of making architectural decisions, and comfortable owning both backend and infrastructure layers in a production AI environment.

 

What you'll be doing

 

  • Design and implement scalable backend services for a RAG-based system
  • Design and develop APIs using FastAPI
  • Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines
  • Contribute to vector storage design and chunking strategies
  • Ensure testing, reliability, and production readiness
  • Proactively propose backend and infrastructure improvements

 

What you'll bring along

 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience developing microservices
  • 5+ years of backend Python development
  • 2+ years building APIs with FastAPI
  • 2+ years designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • 2+ years managing cloud infrastructure (IAM, databases, compute, networking)
  • Proven experience deploying and maintaining web application backends in production
  • Ability to work autonomously and take full technical ownership
  • Testing experience (unit, integration, performance)
  • Observability (logging, tracing, metrics) – Grafana, Prometheus, Loki
  • Nice to Have: Experience with Generative AI and LLM integration
  • Experience with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, OpenSearch, pgvector)
  • Understanding of chunking and retrieval strategies
  • AWS production experience
  • Performance optimization in distributed systems
  • Security best practices for cloud and API-based systems
  • Understand of distributed container based deployment
  • A proactive and participatory mindset
  • Excellent command of both spoken and written English
