Tableau Cloud Migration Consultant

Who we are

 

We are partnering with a major enterprise organization undergoing a large‑scale transition from an on‑premises Tableau Server environment to Tableau Cloud. To support this initiative, we are seeking an experienced Tableau Migration Consultant who will take the lead in planning and executing the core migration activities.
This is a high-impact role focused on designing and executing a structured, phased migration of a complex Tableau environment (multi-site, 800+ workbooks, 700+ users) into Tableau Cloud, ensuring full governance alignment and functional parity.

 

What you’ll be doing

 

  • Assessing the existing Tableau Server landscape and producing a tailored migration blueprint
  • Leading end-to-end Tableau Cloud setup and configuration
  • Executing migration using CMT, REST APIs, and automation scripts
  • Migrating projects, workbooks, data sources, permissions, ownership, schedules, alerts, and credentials
  • Managing Tableau Bridge deployment strategy
  • Running phased migration waves with validation and testing cycles
  • Resolving blockers (broken connections, OAuth updates, credential fixes)
  • Ensuring complete replication of governance and access controls in Tableau Cloud

 

What you'll bring along

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Informatics/ or similar field of study/or equivalent working experience is required
  • A minimum 5-7 years demonstrable experience in a similar role is required
  • Strong hands-on experience with Tableau Server and Tableau Cloud
  • Proven track record in complex on-prem to Tableau Cloud migrations
  • Experience with CMT, REST APIs, and automation
  • Deep understanding of permissions, governance, and multi-site environments
  • Ability to drive migration delivery independently in a deadline-driven program
