Technical Business Analyst with .NET Background

Who we are

 

We are seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst (Technical BA) with strong expertise in .NET applications, database analysis, and business analysis practices. The ideal candidate should be capable of understanding existing applications by analyzing source code, database structures, integrations, and business processes. The individual will work closely with business stakeholders, developers, QA teams, and project managers to translate business requirements into detailed technical user stories, functional specifications, and solution documents.

This role requires a unique combination of technical depth and business analysis skills to support application enhancements, modernization initiatives, and ongoing support activities.

 

What you'll be doing

 

  • Gather and analyse business requirements, translating them into clear functional and technical requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Analyse existing .NET applications, APIs, services, integrations and database structures to understand system functionality and dependencies
  • Review C#, .NET and SQL implementations to support reverse engineering of existing application functionality and business rules
  • Analyse data flows, database schemas, stored procedures, views, SQL jobs and system dependencies
  • Perform impact analysis for change requests, enhancements and defect resolution
  • Facilitate requirement gathering sessions and discussions between business stakeholders, Developers, Architects, QA teams and Project Managers
  • Document AS-IS and TO-BE processes, workflows, system interactions, data mappings and integration requirements
  • Develop functional and technical specifications that provide clear guidance to development teams
  • Collaborate with technical teams to identify solution approaches, dependencies, constraints and implementation impacts
  • Support system integration analysis across applications, APIs, databases and external platforms
  • Contribute to backlog refinement, sprint planning, requirement prioritization and delivery activities
  • Support QA teams with requirement clarification, test scenario preparation, UAT and defect triage
  • Create and maintain project documentation including user stories, process flows, technical specifications, data mappings and design decisions
  • Ensure requirements remain clear, traceable and aligned throughout the delivery lifecycle

 

What you'll bring along

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Informatics or similar field of study, or equivalent working experience
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in a Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst or similar role
  • Strong experience analyzing Microsoft .NET Framework / .NET Core applications
  • Ability to read and understand C#, ASP.NET MVC / Web API and .NET Core implementations
  • Strong SQL knowledge, including queries, stored procedures, database schemas, views and database dependencies
  • Experience with SQL Server, data modelling, database design concepts and data interfaces
  • Good understanding of REST APIs, application integrations and system data flows
  • Proven experience performing technical analysis, impact analysis and application reverse engineering
  • Strong experience with requirements elicitation, user stories, acceptance criteria and functional specifications
  • Experience documenting AS-IS and TO-BE processes, technical workflows and data mappings
  • Ability to facilitate discussions between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams
  • Advanced knowledge of Agile / Scrum methodology
  • Experience with Azure DevOps or Jira, Confluence, Visio / Draw.io and SQL Server Management Studio
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and documentation skills
  • Well-structured and organised working methodology
  • Excellent English verbal and written skills
