Junior Technical Consultant with German (Cobol) Job

Project Overview

We provide 2nd and 3rd Level Support for critical and non-critical applications in the automotive production industry for a major automotive company. The purpose is to maintain, control and support the applications in the production lines.The Job consists in supporting the Mainframe part of a mixed technology Application in the logistics area in the automotive industry.

What you can expect & what we want you to do

Daily tasks: working with the processes of the customer (Incident, Problem, Change Management)
Communication and strong cooperation with the users and the customer
Daily meetings with the team, occasional meetings with the customer
Occasionally optimizing and configuration of the application
Performing root cause analysis and problem analysis
Performing Source Code Analysis
Administration of the tasks, cronjobs for the application
Creating and continuously maintaining the documentation

What you are good at & what you’ll need to win

Bachelor’s degree in technical field
At least 1 year of experience within application management or development field
Experience with databases and any programming languages
Experience with COBOL and DB2 would be a great advantage
Strong problem solving and research skills
Promptitude, proactivity and customer-oriented mindset
ITIL Certification would represent a plus
Excellent command of both spoken and written English and German
