Tech Lead Data Engineer Job

Who we are

 

We are seeking a seasoned Technical Lead - Data Engineering to drive data integration, processing, and migration initiatives to Azure. The role involves architecting robust data solutions, overseeing migrations, and leading a multicultural development team to deliver scalable and efficient data systems.

 

What you'll be doing

 

  • Lead migration of data systems 
  • Architect and implement data solutions tailored to the pet insurance domain, including managing a Pet Database
  • Develop and optimize ETL/ELT workflows, data pipelines, and metadata-driven data products
  • Leverage Azure services, including Synapse, Data Lake Gen 2, Azure Functions, Triggers, and Events
  • Ensure seamless integration of existing AWS services (EKS, EC2, S3, etc.) during migration.
  • Maintain strong governance and data quality using frameworks like Informatica IDMC and Axon
  • Implement DevOps practices (CI/CD, GitHub Actions) and test automation for Azure/AWS ecosystems
  • Collaborate with Agile teams, manage task allocation, and provide technical guidance

 

What you'll bring along 

 

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a similar role
  • Expertise in Azure services (Synapse, Data Lake Gen 2, SHIR, etc.) with experience in cloud migrations
  • Knowledge of AWS technologies (EKS, EC2, Luigi, S3, Jenkins) and integration with Azure.
  • Strong skills in Python programming (core Python, PySpark), SQL (T-SQL, PL/PG-SQL), and containerization (Kubernetes)
  • Proficiency in data modeling (3NF, Star schema, Data Vault) and DWH architecture concepts
  • Familiarity with Lakehouse architectures (DeltaLake) and data governance tools (Informatica, Axon)
  • Proven experience in Agile methodologies and tools (Jira, Confluence)
  • Leadership skills to manage and coordinate development teams effectively
  • Advanced-level English communication skills and experience working in multicultural environments
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with BI reporting tools and data modeling platforms (Erwin, FET), Knowledge of the insurance domain
