The client is a company focused on developing IoT solutions, collaborating on a complex project for diagnosing and testing devices using a modern microservices architecture.The ideal candidate would possess strong expertise in IoT device diagnostics and testing, with a solid understanding of microservices architecture. They should be proficient in backend technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, and PostgreSQL, and have experience with messaging systems like Kafka and MQTT. Familiarity with cloud services, particularly Azure, and skills in infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform would be essential. Additionally, the candidate should demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, and a collaborative mindset to work within a dynamic team environment.

 

What you'll be doing

 

  • Collaborate with the development team to design and implement diagnostic and testing solutions for IoT devices.
  • Develop and maintain microservices for device management, firmware updates, and data processing.
  • Integrate with external diagnostic services and APIs to enhance functionality.
  • Utilize messaging systems like Kafka and MQTT for asynchronous communication between services.
  • Conduct data processing and ETL tasks to analyze device status and feedback.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of applications using tools like Azure Key Vault.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices in software development.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to device functionality and performance.

 
What you'll bring along

 

  • A University degree or advanced diploma in a software engineering-related discipline, preferably in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • At least 4 years of experience on a similar position is required
  • Strong experience in backend development, particularly with Java and Spring Boot.
  • Proficiency in database management, especially with PostgreSQL and version control using Liquibase.
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture and asynchronous communication using Kafka and MQTT.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly Azure, and experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
  • Understanding of infrastructure-as-code principles and tools, such as Terraform.
  • Experience in implementing security measures, including the use of Azure Key Vault.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with a collaborative approach to project work.
  • A proactive attitude towards learning and adapting to new technologies and methodologies.
