Lead Data Engineer

Remote, RO Timisoara, RO Bucuresti, RO Iasi, RO Cluj, RO Brasov, RO Sibiu, RO

Who we are


Decoupled financial data pool hosted on Azure and the Allianz Data Platform, interfaced with various data sources and other systems providing the required data.  
 
The DataPool provides data to SAP and various reporting systems for reporting. Important components of the ecosystem:  
1.    Data Lakehouse with Raw Data Vault, Business Data Vault, and Consumption Layer  
2.    SAP APIs to provide data to SAP FPG & SAP ERUP 
3.    Power BI for reporting 
4.    Informatica DM Cloud 

What you’ll be doing

  • Working closely with client PO 
  • Supporting the following topics/teams technically: Data Integration, ETL, Data Management 
  • Evaluation of various technical initiatives, platforms, and tool stacks  
  • Architect and implement best practices in DevOps  
  • Overall optimization of the architecture and implementation 
  • Harmonize architecture with OEs 
  • Plan and implement Go-Live of OEs – tasks like: 
  • Assessment of readiness (technology, data, access management etc.) 
  • Access management 
  • Implement and rollout/release pipelines 
  • Interfaces standardization 
  • Running data platforms – tasks including Updates, Cost optimization, Incidents, Service requests, Disaster recovery, Monitoring 


What you'll bring along

 

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in data engineering 
  • Experienced data engineer who can also participate in architecture conversations, requirements engineering, costs and estimation etc. 
  • Solid understanding of cloud architecture 
  • Understanding data modeling, data warehousing, data vault and big data technologies. 
  • At least 3 years’ experience with Microsoft Azure, especially solid understanding of Synapse and SparkPool 
  • Experience with angular-based applications in addition to advantageous  
  • Data platform operations and related tasks like disaster recovery, releases
  • ITIL (not necessarily certified, but idea of IT service management)  
  • Can rapidly adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities 
  • Excellent communication skills with high customer focus 
  • Strong analytical skills and Organizing abilities 
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
  • Knowledge of infrastructure deployment via Terraform 
  • Knowledge of data governance and data security best practices 
  • Travel every 2 months travel to Munich, minimum once quarterly
